1 ATTENTION: Effective June 1, 2023, the Commission commences a trial period using metal detectors at our Baltimore City hearing rooms.
Under current policy, no weapons of any kind or anything that can be used as a weapon, may be brought onto the Commission premises. All briefcases, backpacks, purses, etc. are subject to screening. Those with pacemakers and other implantable devices, or those who have a medical condition that should avoid screening through metal detectors should inform the security officer and they will be subject to manual screening. This includes those in wheelchairs. Only police officers will be allowed to bring their weapon onsite. All others will be required to take the item off the premises.

Attorneys should notify their clients and attendees of the new screening process. Please plan to arrive a little earlier to allow sufficient time for screening. As we strive to ensure a safe and secure hearing process, the Commission appreciates your patience as we institute new measures.
