  • Welcome Commissioner Asha Joseph Jefferson.
    The Commission is pleased to announce that Governor Wes Moore has appointed Asha Joseph Jefferson to the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission.  She was confirmed unanimously by the State Senate on March 17, 2023.

  • Welcome our new Chairwoman, Maureen Quinn
    The Commission is pleased to announce that on March 14, 2023, Governor Wes Moore appointed Maureen Quinn as Chairwoman of the Workers’ Compensation Commission.

  • Attention Practitioners - Cumberland: Due to renovations at the Comfort Inn and Suites in LaVale, beginning January 9-10, 2023 through and including APRIL 2023 we have moved our hearing location to Fairfield Inn & Suites, Concord Meeting Room, 21 N. Wineow Street, Cumberland, MD 21052.  We have been advised by management at the Fairfield Inn that individuals participating in WCC hearings are partaking in the complimentary breakfast at the hotel which is provided for guests with sleeping rooms only. If you or participants in your case are not staying overnight at the hotel, please respect the rules of the hotel as we are guests at their facility.

  • Attention Insurers / Insurer Designees: As the Commission prepares for deployment of CompHub, it has requested from all insurers a general correspondence email address. This email address will be used as a sort of "dropbox" to ensure electronic delivery of ALL communications to the insurer from the Commission.  Complete details are found in February 2023 Notices.

  • VIDEO HEARINGS: COMAR -- Due to technical and quality control issues, absent exceptional circumstances, the use of Video Remote Hearings in which a language interpreter is required is suspended until further notice.  VRH will no longer be utilized for SIF and UEF cases.   A request for VRH will be denied without detailed exigent circumstances stated in the request for the VRH (e.g., out-of-state party or witness, inability to attend a hearing in person, etc.), pursuant to COMAR   Instructions for Video Hearings
