The Workers' Compensation Commission is closed Monday, October 10th in observance of Columbus Day. No telephone or websupport is available. We will open for business at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11th.

On October 19, 2005, Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr. named Commissioner R. Karl Aumann as Chairman of the Workers' Compensation Commission. 

October 5The Workers' Compensation Commission is proud to announce that its Web Enabled File Management System (WFMS Online Services) was selected as a winner for the Best of the Web Award by the Center for Digital Government in the Government to Business Category.

Workers' Compensation Research Institute Highlights Maryland WC Benchmarks in November Briefing
On November 9, 2005, in Baltimore, Maryland, WCRI will present key findings for Maryland from the 6th Edition of the annual WCRI CompScope multi-state benchmarks study that will be published in February 2006. This study compares the workers' compensation system performance for Maryland with that of 12 other major states (Arkansas, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin).

In addition, WCRI will present preliminary findings for medical cost and utilization benchmarks for Maryland from the 6th Edition of the WCRI Anatomy benchmarks.
