Prescription Drugs Cost Survey - Reporting Period: July 31 - August 14, 2014
On June 5, 2014, the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission notified self-insured employers and self-insured groups that it is undertaking a comprehensive study to ascertain the actual costs associated with prescription drugs. The periods covered by this study are the following service years: 1/1/11-12/31/11, 1/1/12-12/31/12 and 1/1/13-12/31/13. The Commission has developed an online reporting tool available beginning July 31, 2014. All data must be reported by all self-insured employers and self-insured groups by August 7, 2014.

The Prescription Drug Cost survey is available as a service through the Workers’ Compensation Commission’s Online Services web site. To access the survey and submit your data you must log into our Online Services site.

Please read all of these instructions before accessing our Online Services (link).  The survey is designed to function with contemporary web browsers: Internet Explorer 10.x and 11.x, Firefox (current version is 30.x) and Chrome (current version is 36.x).  Unexpected results may occur when using older Internet Explorer versions, such as IE 8.x or 9.x.  If you are still using Windows XP, we recommend that free browsers Firefox or Chrome are used to complete the survey.

We have created an account for each reporting party using your email address as your username. Before logging in for the first time you must reset your password. To do this, click the Forgotten/Lost Password link on the log-in page and enter the email address that received communication from the Commission about the survey.

If the registered email address is not your email address and/or you receive a message that the email address is not registered, you cannot proceed and must contact for assistance.  DO NOT CREATE/SUBMIT A NEW REGISTRATION APPLICATION.

Although the site is fully functional, there may be local network conditions or policies at your workplace that prevent the survey from loading.  Please tell us about your problem via the websupport email link above.  We will investigate each issue as presented to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

  • The layout of the survey page is similar to the Excel spreadsheet sent previously via email. This survey starts with calendar year 2011 and asks you to provide information for the years 2011, 2012, and 2013. After you have entered the data for the first year click Save and Continue. This will save your data and advance to the next year. You can also click the year links at the top of the page to switch to another year. Your data is automatically saved whenever you switch years.

  • Note that amounts entered are whole dollar amounts only, no decimals are possible.

  • You will find definitions for terms used at the bottom of the survey page after you log-in. Instructions relevant to a specific section of the survey appear when you are completing each section.

  • There is no email receipt for completing the survey; if you’d like to confirm that the survey is complete, please log-in again and your entered values will appear rather than the default zero values displayed when you first accessed the survey.

  • This survey is only open from July 31, 2014 to August 14, 2014. You can access the survey and enter or edit your survey information any time between these dates.

  • If you need to change your reported information after August 7, 2014 contact Steven Jones in the Insurance, Compliance & Reporting Division.

  • WFMS Online Services accounts will be deactivated at the end of the reporting period.
